The Agroecology Partnership’s SRIA outlines a strategic vision to transform European food and farming systems through agroecology, grounded in the principles of sustainability, resilience, and social justice. Developed through a participatory process involving hundreds of experts, it supports the creation of a Europe-wide network of Living Labs and Research Infrastructures. These infrastructures will foster co-creation, experimentation, and knowledge exchange between researchers, farmers, policymakers, and civil society. Agroecology is framed as both a scientific and societal approach, addressing climate change, biodiversity loss, and rural livelihoods. The SRIA defines clear thematic priorities, including agroecosystem redesign, value chain transformation, enabling policies, and the operationalization of Living Labs. It also emphasizes cross-cutting issues such as stakeholder engagement, capacity building, and data sharing. Monitoring and evaluation frameworks are proposed to track the transition’s progress and impact. The SRIA is closely aligned with EU strategies like the Green Deal, Farm to Fork, and the Biodiversity Strategy. It promotes open science, inclusive innovation, and long-term collaboration across sectors and regions. Ultimately, it provides a roadmap for agroecological transformation, aiming for systemic change by 2050.
